VACUPRESS Infrared Oven IR803 — Rapid, Controlled Heating for Thermoplastic Forming & Composite Work

Description

The IR803 is a compact but powerful infrared-heating oven designed specifically to meet the needs of orthotic, prosthetic, and custom-footwear workshops. It delivers quick, even heating of thermoplastics, blister-forming trays, sheet materials, and other plastics — making it an essential tool for vacuum forming, deep drawing, shell molds, and pre-forming preparation.

Core Features & Benefits

  • Direct infrared heating — no preheating required: Unlike conventional convection ovens, the IR803 uses infrared-quartz tubes to heat material surfaces directly, dramatically reducing warm-up times and increasing workshop throughput.

  • Precise material-surface temperature control: An integrated optical IR-sensor coupled with a microprocessor-based PID controller continuously measures the surface temperature of the material — preventing overheating or burnt plastics and guaranteeing consistent results.

  • Wide temperature range & flexible process control: Temperature is infinitely adjustable between ~30 °C and 250 °C, suitable for a broad range of thermoplastics. Built-in timer and ramp functions allow custom heating cycles and gentle heat-up, ideal for sensitive materials.

  • Workshop-ready ergonomic design: The IR803 includes a pull-out Teflon-coated tray for easy loading of sheets or forming frames, double-pane viewing windows for safe monitoring, and interior lighting — making it practical for daily use in labs or clinics.

  • Efficient & energy-saving operation: With no need for long pre-heating and no idle-time heating of air (as happens in convection ovens), the IR803 offers faster cycle-times and lower energy consumption — helping lower operating costs.

Typical Use Cases

  • Pre-heating thermoplastic sheets or blanks for vacuum-forming insoles, orthotic shells, prosthetic sockets, or foot orthoses.

  • Heating blister-forming trays for prosthetic/quasi-sock molds or thermoforming applications.

  • Softening EVA, PP/PE, or other polymer sheets prior to forming or shaping.

  • Preparing plastic parts before post-processing, bonding, or shell sealing.

  • Batch processing small to medium-size plastic sheets — ideal for clinics, ortho labs, and custom-device
