VACUPRESS Infrared Oven IR1003

Description

The IR1003 is a high-performance infrared-heating oven engineered specifically for the demands of orthotic and prosthetic workshops. It provides fast, direct, and consistent heating of thermoplastic sheets, shell blanks, EVA foils, and other materials — ensuring reliable performance for vacuum forming, deep drawing, shell molding, and material pre-heating.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Direct infrared heating — no pre-heat needed: The IR1003 uses an array of 12 specialized IR-quartz tubes to deliver radiant heat directly to the surface of the material — drastically reducing warm-up time and enabling faster processing cycles.

  • Surface-temperature control with optical sensor + PID controller: A built-in optical sensor monitors the surface temperature of the material in real time. This ensures precise heating, avoids overheating or scorching, and produces consistent results — even with different plastics or colored materials.

  • Roll-about tray with adjustable height & Teflon-coated surface: The oven includes a movable, height-adjustable tray that makes loading/unloading easier and supports blister-forming frames or flat sheets. The Teflon coating facilitates material handling and helps prevent sticking or deformation.

  • Optimized for orthotics & prosthetics work: Heated area (~ 92 × 72 cm) is well suited for plastic sheets, shell blanks, foot-orthotic components, socket shells, and similar parts — making the IR1003 practical for workshops producing orthoses, prosthetic sockets, and custom devices.

  • Energy-efficient & responsive: Because infrared heating directly targets the material — not the surrounding air — the IR1003 requires no lengthy preheating. Heating begins only when required, reducing energy consumption and shortening processing cycles compared to traditional convection ovens.

  • User-friendly, workshop-ready design: The oven’s controls allow custom heating cycles (timers, ramp-up) to match different materials and workflows. The carriage tray, safety shutoff when the door is opened, and robust build make it suitable for daily use in busy labs or clinics.

Typical Use Cases

  • Pre-heating thermoplastic sheets, EVA or PP/PE blanks before vacuum-forming insoles, shells, prosthetic sockets, or orthotic devices.

  • Softening plastic blanks for thinning, trimming, or manual molding — e.g., foot orthoses, insoles, shell components, or custom shoe parts.

  • Heating blister-forming trays for prosthetic socket molds or deep-drawing applications.

  • Rapid turnaround small-to-medium batch processing — ideal for clinics, custom orthotic labs, prosthetic workshops, or custom-shoe makers.

  • Material preparation before lamination, bonding, or forming — ensuring uniform heat and controlled softening for consistent results.

Why Choose IR1003

The IR1003 stands out by combining speed, precision, and practicality — delivering direct, controlled infrared heating in a form factor optimized for orthotic and prosthetic production. Its surface-temperature control, infrared heating array, and ergonomic design make it an effective alternative to traditional convection ovens — especially when you need fast cycles, consistent results, and energy-efficient heating. For professionals working with plastics, orthoses, prosthetic shells, and custom components, the IR1003 is a reliable, high-quality heating solution.
