Low Temperature Thermoplastics

Low Temperature Thermoplastics

Low Temperature Thermoplastics (LTTPs) are specialized medical-grade polymers designed for direct, safe, and comfortable moulding on patients at low activation temperatures—typically between 60–65°C. These materials have become essential in orthotic and rehabilitation practice for creating custom, high-precision splints for the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper limb.

LTTPs soften quickly in warm water, allowing clinicians to shape and contour them directly to the patient without discomfort. As the material cools, it hardens into a lightweight, durable, and perfectly fitted orthosis tailored to the patient’s anatomy.
