Protosthetics

Protosthetics - Qaadir - Ability for All

Founded from a university engineering product aiming to design a 3D printed myoelectric arm, Protosthetics quickly realized that O&P was more excited about getting the benefits of 3D printing for existing products than looking for something new.

With that in mind, we launched our central fabrication business in 2016, and have been continuously combining the best customer experience, clinical knowledge, and cutting edge fabrication techniques. Protosthetics brings products to O&P clinicians that allow them to best fulfill their primary purpose - providing excellent patient care to those that deserve it most.

3D printing started as a means to more reliably and cost effectively create products that already exist in O&P. After innovating in manufacturing the current standard of care products using this transformative technology, we've worked to design new ones across the O&P landscape.

After years of customer requests for the benefits of 3D printing in-clinic - improved turnaround time, savings, and repeatability - we launched the Galileo program in late 2021. It's the first of its kind, a fully managed 3D printing program designed exclusively for O&P, built from the ground up with the practitioner in mind.

At Protosthetics, our North Star is a stellar customer experience. Everything we do is laser focused on improving the customer experience with simple ordering, comprehensive and friendly customer support, excellent product design, and everything in between.

Technology is a huge part of our continous improvement. Ultimately though, it's the people that make up our team, who are driven to deliver excellence, that make all the difference. We'd love a chance to work with you and show you what it's like to be part of the Protosthetics family.

    Protosthetics Galileo 3D Printer

Galileo by Protosthetics is an end-to-end in-clinic 3D printing solution designed specifically for orthotic and prosthetic clinicians and technicians who want to bring more digital fabrication capability into everyday practice. Rather than functioning as a standalone printer only, Galileo is positioned as a complete workflow that combines scanning, digital order submission, remote design support, print optimisation, on-site fabrication and ongoing technical support for O&P clinics. Built for the realities of modern O&P service delivery, Galileo supports a connected workflow in which the clinic scans the limb or cast, submits the order through the Proto App, and then works with the Protosthetics team as the design is created and optimised for printing before being deployed back to the clinic for on-site production. This model is designed to help clinics benefit from digital manufacturing without needing to build a full in-house CAD department from day one. Galileo is especially relevant for O&P providers looking to improve turnaround times, standardise fabrication quality and expand access to additive manufacturing without placing the full design and R&D burden on their own internal team. Protosthetics describes the platform as a complete in-clinic 3D printing package for O&P, supported by a dedicated digital technician lead, continuous product development and hardware upgrades as new versions become available. For orthotic and prosthetic clinicians, Galileo offers a practical route into digitally enabled care pathways. For technicians and fabrication teams, it provides a structured manufacturing ecosystem that includes optimisation for print speed and performance, material support, training resources and hardware support. Protosthetics also highlights a learning portal, full practitioner and technician training, and ongoing remote troubleshooting as part of the wider solution. This makes Galileo well suited to clinics that want more than a printer alone. It is aimed at O&P organisations looking for a broader digital production platform that can support scaling, improve workflow confidence and reduce barriers to adopting in-house 3D printed orthotic and prosthetic products. With its combination of in-clinic fabrication and external digital support, Galileo is positioned as a hybrid model for clinics seeking faster, more streamlined and more accessible digital manufacturing in orthotics and prosthetics. Key Features End-to-end in-clinic 3D printing solution for O&P clinics Scan-to-print workflow supported through the Proto App Dedicated digital technician team to support clinical requirements Product design and print optimisation handled by Protosthetics Ongoing hardware upgrades for active subscribers Continuous O&P product research and development Learning portal with written and video guidance Material supply tracking and replenishment support Full practitioner and technician training Hardware support and repair included within the programme
