Description
ZeroSole is an ideal chairside solution for clinicians managing pre-ulcerative pressure areas in people with diabetes. Its removable hex-cell technology enables immediate, targeted plantar offloading—without grinding, heating, gluing or waiting for a custom device to be manufactured.
When a clinician identifies a callus, corn, localised pressure point or other pre-ulcerative area, the corresponding hexagonal cells can be removed from beneath that location. This creates an instant offloading cavity while the surrounding cells continue supporting the foot and redistributing plantar load.
ZeroSole can be fitted during a single appointment, making it particularly valuable for diabetic-foot clinics, podiatry departments, orthotic services and community healthcare programmes requiring a fast, practical intervention.
Clinical Applications:
- Chairside management of pre-ulcerative plantar pressure areas
- Offloading beneath calluses, corns and areas of recurrent hyperkeratosis
- Reducing pressure beneath metatarsal heads and other high-risk locations
- Providing immediate support while custom footwear or foot orthoses are prepared
- Extending pressure management between diabetic-foot appointments
- Supporting patients in community, home-care and outreach settings

Evidence-Led Pressure Relief
ZeroSole was developed by practising UK podiatrists. Laboratory and clinical evaluations reported statistically significant pain reduction and up to a 28% reduction in peak plantar pressure when the insole was customised to offload the targeted area.
Five-Step Chairside Fitting:
- Assess the foot and identify the pre-ulcerative or high-pressure area.
- Trim the insole to match the patient’s footwear.
- Mark and transfer the affected location onto the insole.
- Identify the corresponding hexagonal cells.
- Remove the selected cells, insert the insole and verify fit and offloading.

ZeroSole should be fitted as part of a comprehensive diabetic-foot management plan that includes clinical assessment, appropriate footwear, skin surveillance, patient education and regular review. It is intended to support pressure redistribution around intact pre-ulcerative areas and should not be applied over an active diabetic foot ulcer without specialist clinical direction.
