Description
The nora® Astro med 10 expanded rubber sheet – 316 vanilla is an ultra-soft, lightweight cushioning material developed for prosthetic, orthotic, and orthopedic footwear applications where maximum comfort, pressure relief, and shock absorption are required. With very low hardness and high elasticity, Astro med 10 provides excellent bedding properties, making it ideal for sensitive feet, diabetic patients, and applications where soft top-layer cushioning is essential.
This expanded rubber material offers outstanding comfort while maintaining sufficient resilience to withstand daily walking loads. It is particularly suitable for heel and forefoot cushioning, full-length insole top layers, and pressure-relief areas such as heel spur cavities. Due to its soft structure, the material helps reduce both vertical impact forces and horizontal shear stress, improving patient comfort and reducing the risk of skin irritation.
Unlike EVA-based cushioning materials, Astro med 10 is processed without heat forming and is bonded in cold condition, making it ideal for lamination and layering in orthotic and prosthetic fabrication.
